Cookie Policy
Draft version, under legal review.
Cookies and Similar Technologies.
Last Updated: July 29, 2026
1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how ONKA uses cookies and similar technologies on its website.
It should be read together with ONKA's Privacy Policy.
Because the technologies used by a website may change over time, this policy should be updated whenever ONKA materially changes its use of cookies, analytics, personalisation, or other tracking technologies.
2. What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website may store in a visitor's browser or device.
Cookies can allow a website to remember information between page visits or future visits.
Similar technologies may perform related functions without technically being browser cookies.
In this policy, references to "cookies" may include comparable technologies where appropriate.
3. How ONKA May Use Cookies
Depending on the configuration of the ONKA website, cookies and similar technologies may be used for the following purposes.
Strictly necessary. These technologies are required for the website or a requested service to function properly. They may support:
- Website security
- Session management
- Form functionality
- Fraud or abuse prevention
- Remembering privacy and cookie choices
Where these technologies are technically necessary to provide the website or a service requested by the visitor, they may operate independently of optional cookie preferences where permitted by applicable law.
Preferences. Preference technologies allow the website to remember choices made by a visitor. Examples may include:
- Preferred language
- Display preferences
- Other website settings
Where applicable, visitors may be able to enable or disable these technologies.
Analytics. Analytics technologies help ONKA understand how visitors use its website. Information may include:
- Number of visitors
- Pages visited
- Traffic sources
- General interaction patterns
- Website performance
- Conversion events
ONKA may use this information to understand and improve the effectiveness of its website.
Personalisation. Personalisation technologies may allow ONKA to adapt parts of the website based on a visitor's previous interactions or selected preferences. These may be used to provide a more relevant website experience.
Marketing. If introduced in the future, marketing technologies may be used to:
- Measure advertising campaigns
- Attribute enquiries or conversions
- Understand advertising performance
- Support relevant advertising
ONKA should not activate optional marketing or profiling technologies by default where affirmative activation is required by applicable law.
4. ONKA's Current Cookie Configuration
This section describes the actual production configuration of onkalabs.com. ONKA does not list a technology merely because it may be introduced in the future.
- Strictly necessary. No cookie is required for
this website to work, and none is set before you make a choice
in the consent banner. The always-on storage is limited to two
ephemeral items of session storage (sessionStorage), which are
not cookies: a brief page-transition flag (key
onka:cta-in), written when you click the contact button and removed as soon as you arrive on the contact page, and a summary of your pricing-configurator choices (keyonka:lead-prefill), staged so the contact form can pre-fill it and removed once it is read. Once you answer the consent banner, your choice itself is remembered in local storage (keyonka-consent) so you are not asked on every visit. All of this stays in your browser, belongs to this site alone, and tracks nothing. - Preferences. None. Your language is not stored in your browser: it is determined by the page address, "/" for English and "/fr/" for French.
- Analytics. One, off by default: HubSpot
audience measurement. It is activated only if you accept it
through the consent banner. On acceptance, the site loads
HubSpot's measurement script and HubSpot sets the cookies
hubspotutk,__hstc,__hsscand__hssrc, which help ONKA understand how the site is visited. Their lifetimes range from the browser session to about six months. If you decline, or until you answer, none of this loads and no analytics cookie exists. - Personalisation. None.
- Marketing. None. No advertising, remarketing, or profiling technology is used.
Third-party requests. The ONKA website loads no
third-party JavaScript before consent, and its typefaces are
served from the site itself: no request is made to any external
font service. If you accept analytics, one third-party script is
loaded from HubSpot (js-na3.hs-scripts.com). One
other data flow leaves the site: the ONKA contact bridge. The
contact form talks to a service operated by ONKA at
hubspot-bridge.vercel.app, which forwards information
into ONKA's customer relationship management system (HubSpot).
That service is contacted at two moments: when the contact page
loads, to fetch the list of industries shown in the form, and when
you submit the form, to deliver what you entered. It is not a
cookie and it does not track you across websites.
The consent banner. On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline analytics cookies. Nothing optional is activated before you accept. Your choice is remembered, and you can change it at any time: if you declined, through the "Cookies" button at the bottom right of every page; if you accepted, right here: reopen the cookie banner. Declining after having accepted deletes the cookies HubSpot set and reloads the page clean.
5. Your Choices
Where ONKA uses optional technologies requiring user choice, visitors will be provided with appropriate controls.
Depending on the technologies in use, visitors may be able to:
- Accept all optional cookies
- Reject all optional cookies
- Manage preferences individually
The available categories may include:
- Preferences
- Analytics
- Personalisation
- Marketing
Visitors may change their choices where the website provides a cookie-preference control.
6. Cookie Consent Interface
Where a consent interface is required, ONKA's preferred structure is:
- Necessary: always active where required for website operation.
- Preferences: optional.
- Analytics: optional.
- Personalisation: optional.
- Marketing: optional, if ONKA introduces marketing technologies.
The interface should provide clear options to:
- Accept All
- Reject Optional
- Manage Preferences
Optional technologies should follow the applicable consent requirements before activation.
7. Third-Party Technologies
Some website functionality may be provided by third parties.
Where those services place cookies or use similar technologies, their practices may also be governed by their own privacy policies.
ONKA will identify material third-party technologies in this Cookie Policy where appropriate.
8. Changes to This Cookie Policy
ONKA may update this policy when:
- New technologies are introduced
- Existing technologies are removed
- Analytics practices change
- Personalisation features change
- Marketing technologies are introduced
- Applicable requirements change
The "Last Updated" date indicates the latest revision.
